This new movie by genius director Christopher Nolan shows a dramatic and true story of evacuations in Dunkirk, the beach and the harbor where one of the most striking battles took place during World War II. After a seemingly inevitable situation in which Allied soldiers, surrounded by German forces on all sides, have unexpectedly received help and opportunity for evacuation, while the terrible struggle continues to fail.
Christopher Nolan is absolutely incredible filmmaker, and his new movie “Dunkirk” reaffirms his genius. But because of the fact that he chose to remove all the historical context surrounding this battle from the film, and to get to know these anonymous characters as much as possible, he made a film that does not have any epsonic quality that fails to convey the enormous importance of Dunkirk, and ultimately A movie that will not make you feel any sense in you. What the movie works is very good is acting and tiny moments intimately – Nolan simply did not manage to connect epic with intimate.
